Off to Herb and Jody’s this morning
to check an electrical problem on his coach.
The pneumatic pump would not work.
It was a fairly quick fix, a circuit breaker had tripped.
We came home to have lunch, and
then went out with Herb and Jody to the Yuma Quartermaster Depot.
This depot used to be the main depot for the
army during the 1800’s and early 1900’s.
Yuma used to be the main army depot in the lower south western states. We went through a number of the buildings
which has been restored. They also had
quite a number of artifacts about this area.
In the main warehouse, was a
display about Alcatraz prison. There
were mock-ups of the prison, many pictures of notorious prisoners and two presentations, it was very informative, I
learned a lot.
Alcatraz restored
mockup of jail cell
In another one of the buildings
there were numerous pics and a presentation of how water is brought to the Yuma
valley, mainly for the growing of leafy type plants
Special people today – George – our
next door neighbour. It is nice to have
a quiet fellow living next door, also helpful when needed. He loves cars, especially his two Corvettes.
