Happy Valentine’s Day.
In the wee hours of the morning, I
heard Vadie call me, I had asked her to call me if she needed help or if Dusty
had a turn for the worse. Well at
4:30am, Dusty had a seizure, although he continued to live, definitely it was
getting closer to the end. All morning
he hardly moved, then he got up, got a drink of water, then threw up. His stability was very weak. Vadie had decided, that it was time for him
to go, he had become so weak, so she called the vet, and we had an appointment
at 3pm. He passed away shortly
thereafter very peacefully. Gosh, in a
short two months, we have had two pets die.
We will be heading north with great sadness.
Dusty's last meal - Vadie tried to feed him babyfood
barely strong enough to stand up
Dusty - been with us for 12 years, 16 years old
While Vadie was comforting Dusty,
you could see that Jake, our other cocker was “out of sorts”, as if knew
something was going on, he would sniff at Dusty often.
We did manage to find time to exchange gifts
with all of the other things going on.
Card and watch from Vadie
Card to Vadie with cup and chocolate dog
To while the time away, I made
breakfast for us, and cleaned up.
Valentines shape egg, without trying - go figure
While Dusty, Jake and Vadie napped,
I completed the soldering job for the bathroom lights. I was also able to reinstall the
cabinet. I had broke one of the defusers
so I will need to purchase a new one.
overhead valance removed
valance and top lights on
valance installed - no lights on
Special People tonight – Debbie –
another potter, who take classes with Vadie.
She is now the president of Clay Artists of Terrace Society. They have
become friends, even though they live in separate communities, they find time
to get together to have coffee and “pot” when Vadie is there.
