The past mornings we have started out by going to have
coffee with my cousin Brenda in the Leask Village office. My aunt had a kitchen tap and filter system
which was not working very well anymore, old age, so we went to the Home
Hardware store and picked up a new tap setup. I installed it for her, and she
is very happy with the result.
After lunch we headed to another cousin of mine, daughter of
Aunt Christine, named Karen and her husband Cliff. They live in a place called
Shell Lake. We could drive like hundreds
of kilometres or go cross country on dirt roads, much shorter, that is the way
my aunt usually goes, so that is the way we went.
Yesterday, on the dirt roads with overcast skies but dry, it
was not too bad, but you know what happens when torrential downpours and dirt
roads mix – MUD, yuck.
Karen and Cliff are artists, but both in totally different
fields. Cliff likes playing in the mud
with tractors and makes roads etc, while Karen paints in acrylics and
watercolors. Below are some pictures
which Karen has done – very beautiful work.
They have a fairly large acreage and are subdividing a small
portion off in approx. 10 acre parcels.
I really like the look of this land, nice rolling hills.
Karen made a lovely supper of chicken soup for us all, and
then off we headed for Leask again.
