Matt was heading to Minot today, and we had prearranged for
us to go with him. He took us to places
well out of the way and we are greatly appreciative.
We stopped at the Lewis and Clark interpretive centre, but just
ahead of us was a bus load of students so they took up the time with the interpreter.

On our way to Minot we turned west and headed to a place
called Garrison Dam and Powerhouse. On
the way there, we saw a moose in the field. The dam created a very large
reservoir behind it, and it makes for great boating now.

Back towards Minot, we went into a Ceramics place but it was
closed. In Minot we went out for lunch
at Ruby Tuesdays, then went with Matt to take care of some of his business.
There was a pottery place where Matt wanted to take us too
as well, Davy Pottery. This is run by Susan Davy, she is a
commercial potter but does hand building and throwing as well. When Matt and
Shelley got married, they purchased a number of cups from her and gave them to
the guests, so he is trying to get them duplicated now as a anniversary gift
for Shelley (she knows).

While going to Davy Pottery we spotted a junkyard of old
trucks, west of Minot. All sorts of neat
vehicles, just waiting to be restored.

In the evening, Vadie and I went for an evening cruise. It was wonderful, the weather was nice and
the sun setting just made things even prettier. I was going to post some pics, but alas my filing system is not all that good, because I cannot locate them - hmmmm.
Special people – Vadie’s Uncle Joey and Deanna – Vadie says
that he is mellowing out as he gets older LOL.
