May 26th to June 4th - Halfmoon Bay BC

May 26th to June 4th:  Other than visiting Aunt Mandy, our main purpose was to build her a new deck and help her with anything that needed repairs.
When we got there on the morning of the 26th, Aunt Mandy had told us that the deck had been removed and taken to the dump, that most of the material was rotten and not worth using again. So these pictures is what we started with.

In addition, the shubbery is all overgrown, the garden is basically non existent, the blackberry vines have taken over, and the yard is drastically in need of lots of work.  Vadie's aunt is 78 years young, not in the best of health, but likes to live here, even though she knows it is way too much work for her. Even though, it is all overgrown, she still has some beautiful flowers.

So after 4 days, the new deck was completed, basically very simple, deck is smaller than the old one she used to have, so concrete had to be jackhammered and new footings placed etc.
Here is the new deck.
The next couple of days we trimmed the trees, gardened, weeded, and cleaned up the yard, oh yes cut the grass and whipper snipped as well.
Aunt Mandy is very happy with the completed jobs, and this will make it easier for her to see the end of the tunnel.

Even though we did do a lot of work, we had a couple of days which we spent looking around and playing the tourist.
Oh yes, when we went to leave, the bus fired right up and had a good trip back to the mainland, to Chilliwack BC again.
