June 21st – Hwy 22 to Municipality of Taber Campground

June 21st – Hwy 22 to Municipality of Taber Campground
Another beautiful morning, we left the roadside pullout and headed toward Lethbridge Ab.  I knew of a truck shop there, so I went in and got a new master switch.  Now all I have to do is install it.  We met Lori Gibson there and decided where we should go.  Two choices, a resort at $54.00 per night or camping at a Municipal Campground at $25.00 per night.  Since our main intention was to spend time with the Gibson family, camping was in order.
They are the owners of a 1964 GMC Transit coach which is converted.  It was purchased by their parents  John  & Lil Wilbor, who are now elderly and cannot use it anymore, so it was passed onto Tim and Lori Gibson.
Lori mentioned when she saw us, that they would really like to go camping but they were having a problem with their coach, the suspension would not air up.  Lori and I looked for the problem in the afternoon, and then later in the evening Tim and I looked for the problem again.  Alas, we found the problem, a simple fix, open a valve which had been closed, so tomorrow night they will join us.
We headed to Tabor Municipal Campground which is located in a valley on the Oldman river.  It is a very nice campground but certainly not big rig friendly.  We were towing the car hauler, so we unhooked it and left it in the car park.  We then went to dump and fill up with water, as they only provide 15 amp service – hmmm Vadie is really learning how to conserve energy (as long as she doesn’t turn on the security lights hehe.  We could not drive all around the dump site, so we got as close as we could, dumped and filled with water, then backed out watching out for the overhanging trees as well as the trees themselves.

We had walked the campsite, and found a site that would fit two coaches, so we left Lori’s new Dodge Challenger there (black on black), and then went to get the coach.  Needless to say it was interesting to wind through the trees to get to our campsite.  We are now here for the next eight days, got here early due to the electrical problems.
