June 26th - Municipal District of Taber Campsite
– Oldman River
The rain continued all night long, as well as the thunder
and lightening. Rain did not let up till
noonish, and ½ of the campsite was closed due to being under water. Some people had put there trailers and such
in the campsite but were not there, so the caretakers were busy with trying to
get them out of there. We packed up much
of our stuff, as we were not sure what was going to happen. The Oldman River though was rising.
Not much was done today except play card and
dice games in the 64. Later in the
afternoon, we did get to see some sunshine.
We saw a number of pelicans, wow, are they great swimmers – the river
was flowing about 7 mph and they were swimming upstream and making headway.
