Today we did the touristy thing.  We visited the Air and Space Museum.  I knew those airplanes were big, but one only realizes this when they come up close to the airplane.  Some pics of airplanes I like.

Vadie had decided that we stop and look at the Museum of Geology – South Dakota.  After looking at all of the fossils, we went through the rock section, and she says that is the main reason why she came here.  She wanted to know what the rocks she used in her pottery – cool.

Just up the road was Sioux Pottery.  This pottery place is well known for quality pottery.  It is run by the Sioux native Americans.  Although they call this pottery, much is done like ceramics, pour into moulds and cast.  It is then glazed etc like pottery.  They also have a jigger with moulds to make bowls and plates.  Very little is thrown free hand on a wheel or hand made with slab rolling.  Vadie found it very interesting.

Glazing does take lots of talent, and Red Feathers was doing a remarkable job.

The temperature was very warm when we left, so we left the dogs at the coach.
We went back and had a late lunch then went to Bear Country USA.  Much like a zoo, except just wild animals of North America. You drive your car through their territory, we took the dogs and Jake behaved himself pretty good.

This is a pic of Mount Rushmore which Nick Clifford had signed.

During the touristy thing, we have purchased some little trinkets of the places we have been to.

We also opened up the basket to see what was in the Dakotized basket. Wow, lots of things.

Special people – Micheal Kant – airplane fanatic that he is.
