A very beautiful day today.
Again we were up early to watch the balloons rise up into the sky. Even
though this is the second time we saw the balloons reach for the sky, it is an
awesome site to see. There were some
balloons which flew this time which did not make it up on the 11th.
Once the balloons have reached the sky, and flown away, the
vendors do a brisk business. All along
the field there are vendors of all sorts, play areas for the kids and teens
alike, food vendors, official vendors of souveniers for the Balloon fest, plus
at the end of the field there were the chainsaw carvers. They each did timed carvings and were judged,
the pieces then were auctioned off and proceeds to the Balloon fest committee.
One thing which I have not mentioned was the wonderful time
that we had with all of the others in our group. The meals were exceptional, the hospitality
was tremendous, friendship was outstanding, and much thanks to our 4 organizers
– Fred, Rick, John and Curt.
As always, there were things that some BBer’s required help
with, these wonderful machines are always in need of some type of repair,
fridges not working, electrical problems, and numerous other small and some not
so small problems.
Special Person – My third grandchild – Jake – what a
strapping lovely young lad he has become.
He turned 16 this year, yet he continues to be helpful and charming .
