June 30th – Gas City Campground – Medicine Hat,
Ab
Having all of our childen and grandchildren here is
awesome. We are having a very good
time. The weather has been warm so this
allows us to have a lot of outdoor activities.
We continue to play lots of different games, and it sure is
interesting when playing with 4 year olds to adult mix. Croquet seems to be the best game in which we
can all play.
Fred mentioned that a piece had fallen off his motorhome
(Fleetwood Fiesta LX), so we decided to have a look at it. Good thing he mentioned it, it was the device
which does not allow the slideout awning to unroll when going down the
highway. This was on the driver’s side
slideout. We ended up drilling a new
hole and securing it, we then checked the passenger slideout and found out that
the screws were loose.
Vadie made a wonderful dinner, vegetarian spaghetti, it
seemed to be a big hit as not much was left.
We also had watermelon for dessert to replenish the water that we were
loosing due to the heat.
Frank, one of the twins, brought his girlfriend Breanna, along
for supper. During supper, I asked
Breanna why she had picked Frank and not Jake, (very hard to tell apart). OHHHH MYYY, what a can of worms I opened
up. She did not hold back, and then the
war was on. WHAT HAD I DONE? LOL
After dinner, Rob/Dannielle’s family decided to go to the
theatre to watch a Disney show.
This gave us a chance to give William his birthday gift
(June 28). We also had some extra time
with them and played croquet, the game the kids really like.
Fred/Fiona and the kids retired early, the kids have been
staying up late and going strong the long days.
We had my son Joe with us, so we played bocce and dominoes. He learned quickly how to play bocce and he
really kicked my butt.
While we were playing dominoes, the fellow with the pedal tractors
set up, and the kids and adults alike were riding them all over the campsite.
After the show, Rob/Dannielle’s clan came back, both to play
croquet and so that Emily could have a sleepover in Opa’s bus.
