This morning it was the guys time to get up and go
early. We were off to find a headlight
swith, Pick-a-part. We got two switches
for $10.00 (late 80’s chev).
Wow, another hot day, it seems the best time to do work
outside is either in the morning or later in the evening. However, in John’s shop, it seems to stay a
nice 71 degrees F. It is really pleasant
to work in.

Then off to get some metal for the dash – make a new panel
where the stereo and mirror controls are going to go. We had the metal sheared
for us, so it looks and fits nicely. For this same project, off we went to
purchase wire, connectors, etc. for this same project.
We cut the holes in for the stereo, mirror controls and
ignition key. We used JB Weld for
holding the bracket onto the aluminum (John is a genius LOL) I had never heard of this glue/weld before
but it sure seems to work good.
Once this was made, we went to work on the coach. The headlight switch was installed, but for
some unknown reason, there was a lot of current on it, we could hear it
sizzle. It was disconnected and we
traced everything we could but could not find the reason, but now it seems to
work properly. We however redid some of
the wiring, so now the low air and headlight warning lights and buzzer works
like it should.
We played with the step control circuit and found the
mercury switch out of adjustment, so this was repaired as well.
Success all around.
