Powell was busy getting the last of the hay in and Char was busy with getting ready for their Thanksgiving which is tomorrow.

Vadie was catching up on all of the laundry, and I was doing chores on the coach.

I installed the new inverter and it works as it should.

I also found out that I have two gauges which do not work as well as one sender, I have ordered these and hopefully I will be able to put them in this weekend.

I reorganized the storage area again, and Vadie was pleased to hear that we now have more space again

Well, today I turned 62. 

I know I have lots to be thankful for, Vadie, my children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.  I have a great job, well at least when I left it was LOL, and the Lord provides me with abundance of knowledge.

Today we travelled from Boerne to Mathis Tx.  As in most of our travels we have taken the back roads, or what they call farm roads down here, we try to stay away from the interstates, and other secondary highways.

What we noticed is the abundance of construction going laying new pipelines and building bulk oil storage stations.  There does not seem to be a lack of jobs here.

We arrived at Powell and Char’s about 3:30pm and settled in.

Char made a lovely dinner and a beautiful triple chocolate cake with white icing and red lettering – it was scrumptious.

Today was a very good day, and I cannot remember the last time it was 25 C, clear skies on my birthday.

I really could get to like it down here.

Yippee, Whohoo, this morning I read an email that said we have our “family” friends from Holland coming again next summer.  This is awesome news.  We have been meeting them every year, except this year, for the past 10 years, watching the kids grow up to become young adults.  

Today we stayed an extra day at Boerne Tx, Vadie had suggested we go into San Antonio to check out the Alamo, Zoo and Aquarium.  By the time we had walked through the Alamo, and then did the Riverwalk, we were both tired, and it had taken us almost 4 hours as well, so the zoo and aquarium lost out.

Touring the Alamo was very interesting, I had heard of the song many times, but seeing and reading the facts of the last stand, things started to make sense.  Walking through where the Alamo stood, where people played, ate and fought was really unique.

After walking through the Alamo, we went for a horse carriage ride.  The lady driver told us about the hotels, restaurants, churches and other buildings, when they were built, and how things changed over the years.   

Even though things have changed, many of the buildings have been restored, and are being used presently.

Along the Riverwalk, there are all kinds of restaurants, one would not lack food, no matter what their taste is.

Vadie and I went into Boerne this am to check out some more of the stores, we were surprised just to see how many stores were closed till noon, and how many were not going to be open today or tomorrow.  We did get to browse in the stores that were open.

We headed to Sue and Dean Toensing’s place approx 10 miles away.  Again, as we have seen so many times, each coach just a little different, and unique in its own way.  Of the numerous coaches we have seen lately, I am amazed at how few hours on the main engine.  The generator does seem to get a fair share of the load LOL.  They too have a very nice coach.

We met Sue and Mike for dinner, we went to the “The Dodging Duck” a publike atmosphere with a brewery.  Food was delicious.  We came back to our coach and went through a number of pictures of the 1984 FC restoration.

This morning we met Sue and Mike Bulriss again, it has been a long time 6 years.  We met them when we first picked up $quanderlodge, we were not going to stop at campgrounds, but ended up in a campground west of Boerne because of generator problems.  He brought out his tools, pizza and beer so we could try to repair the problem.  It was not meant to be, but we had a good meal.

We also met Sue and Dean Toensing, fellow BBer’s who own an 1989 WB. They are somewhat fulltiming, they have a little cottage where they park their coach, but mainly live in it. 

In the afternoon we went with Sue and Mike, toured their coach – a 1991 BB Concept coach (which is for sale), their coach features a side bathroom, and then split entry into the bedroom which gives them a lot of clothe hanging storage. The outside is a very pretty green colored coach with accents of gold and silver. 

After the coach tour we then toured the town of Boerne, saw a number of antique stores, and also went out for lunch at Ruby’s BBQ.  Another great meal in the south.
