Dang we must have been tired. We slept in this morning again, this is becoming a habit hmmm.

Theresa is looking after us very well, actually she is spoiling us, breakfast, lunch and supper.  They both are very gracious hosts.  All of the meals are very Yummy.

Whenever we meet, at either place, we tap into each others resources, and usually get one or two projects done.  One of the times here, we managed to get 50 amp power brought to the front of the house for RV hookup, this has come in very handy the last couple of days.  It was bitter cold, the wind has made it even worse, so having the extra power has been helpful.

As I mentioned yesterday, we finished the RV plug off today.  We installed a relay so he could have work lights on the back deck as well.

wiring it up - I wish it was that simple

Jake is recuperating well.  He sure does not like the “collar of shame” so he has been really good about not chewing on his bandage.  He is up and running about and generally being himself again, happy tail and all.

Vadie did a little bit more laundry today, but generally had it fairly easy.  She took care of some personal business as well.

After supper, we played cards, hmm the hosts beat the guests, I guess since I lose no matter who I play with, I must be the LOSER LOL.

Since finding a dump site open is almost impossible, we used the big sewer system in front of the house.  Usually we just drive up, hook up the hose and dump quickly, well it was not quite like that today.  The sewer pipe is the end of the system so it is clean inside.

A REAL FEMALE ATTACK CAT - she does not like strangers

Well dumping the sewer did not go well.

  • 1.       First, the hose slipped off the connector and fell inside the tank, I crawled inside to get it.

  • 2.       The dump valve would not open for the black,

  • 3.       Thank goodness the valve would not open because the hose broke at the elbow, the hose did not like the cold

  • 4.       Got the back up hose, with working the valve back and forth it finally opened, then we dumped.

  • 5.       When I was putting the spare hose back, it broke as well, dang old age and cold I guess

However, we now have full water tanks and empty grey and black tanks, so we can continue on our journey.

Off the Prince George tomorrow.

Special People Today – It has to be Stu and Theresa.  For being gracious hosts, helping us through our little trials and tribulations, and being the special long time friends, gosh it has been 41 years, we met when we worked at Utah Mines in Port Hardy BC.

Stu headed out breakfast with his friend this morning, so we decided to wash Jake , our furry one.  I shampooed him, and scrubbed him, to help with his scoriasis.  As usual, he wimpered as he wanted out of the tub.  While Vadie was drying him, she noticed a large lump on his right front ankle, so I had a look, and then went to find a vet.  Thankfully, the vet was in today (only twice a week).  She asked if we could come in immediately, which we did, only to find out that Jake had to get the swollen area lanced, Jake was pretty good, but he did squeal a number of times.

He is now at home, recuperating.  They are not sure if it was a continuation of the foxtail grass infection or if something else is going on.  We will have to wait till we get back home, his bandage can come off then and our vet will have a look at him.

When we got home, Vadie did the laundry, and I went to help Stu with a couple of his projects.  We made a bracket for the air conditioner on his shop roof, then started working on his International truck to hook up a 7 pin RV plug.

Theresa made us wonderful meals, breakfast, lunch and supper, wow they too were Yummy.

After supper, we played cards, hmm the ladies beat the men – ahh Stu didn’t play very good LOL.

Special People Today – All of the vetenarians, their staff and all of the personnel who helped us through our difficulties with our furry friends.

We said our goodbyes last night, as we knew that Debbie would be gone to work before we left, and John would not be home before we left.

We headed out about 10am, the weather was not bad, it was to be freezing rain, thankgoodness that it did not materialize.

nice and green - real cold

 entering British Columbia - HOME

As we headed westward, we had some rain, sleet and snow, but nothing of concern to continue our travels to Valemount.  When we arrived in Valemount we did get to see some sunshine, it was a warm welcome.
We filled our propane tank to ensure that we had enough in case we hit some more cold weather.  Once we leave Valemount, it will be boondocking at Walmarts and other places we are allowed in the northwest.

We finally ended up at Stu and Theresa place, where we will spend the next couple days.  Theresa made us dinner, pork chops, broccoli, potatoes, corn, with a merinque pie for dessert – Yummy.

After dinner, we went to Stu’s shop to see what he has been up too, as well, we had to move a log for some roof work which is about to happen.

Special People Today – John and Debbie – wonderful couple who has welcomed us to their place for that past number of years.  They are the owners of a 84FC, plus many other unique types of vehicles.  They are also very helpful when it is needed.

Wow, we must have been tired.  We both slept in till 10am.

John and Debbie both had to go to work this am.

Drove to Morinville to see Shelley, she has not been feeling too great of late.  It was good to see her again.
On our way home we stopped and picked up some groceries.
The wind continued to howl all day which made the day feel really cold.

We took Debbie out for dinner to our usual spot – Bing’s Chinese Restaurant, yes the food was Yummy.

Special People Today – The personal who run the Terrace Farmer’s Market, the wonderful job they are doing and keeping the costs low for the vendors.

Happy Birthday Riley.  It was great to see you again.

What a surprise when we woke up this morning, snow and heavy frost on the ground.  None of this was in the forecast – it was funny to hear the weather forecasters trying to explain what was going on.

We checked the road conditions and all seem to be ok, so we headed out.  We quickly learned that there was no heat coming from the dash area, there was heat in the rest of the coach though so those heaters had to work overtime to keep the coach warm.  The worst part was our feet, so whenever we stopped we warmed up our feet.  The sun shone brightly and this made our trip uneventful, keeping the roads dry.

We took the backroads most of the way as there is very little traffic and somewhat more scenic that taking the freeway.

We arrived at John and Debbie’s place about 4:30pm, after fueling up and seeing if we could dump the grey and black water, but everything is closed.  Will have to wait till we get to Valemount, then we can add water as well.

Debbie had dinner waiting for us, chicken, potatoes, carrots, broccoli salad and a green leaf salad.  Well, I mentioned to her that the dinner was delicious, and John says “Is that all”, what about the saying on the blog, so I had to think about it, then I corrected myself and told her that it was both “delicious and Yummy” LOL.

Special People today – Riley, Tracey and Matthew – thanks for coming down and visiting us.  It sure was nice to see you all again.
