Pleasant trip, but had to reroute as the hwy we were going to go on had some low bridges, yup enough for us to rip stuff off the top.  Good thing we noticed the sign before we had driven too far.

  Solar panel array - huge

For the night we stayed at a Good Sam campground, which had a hot tub and indoor pool, which we went to enjoy.

After finding out about our property yesterday, it was a little disappointing.  There actually is not much value here at all, as the state has all the mineral, water and many other legal rights as well. However, we did go for a drive up to see the property.

Once we saw the property, we continued on through the Quadalupe National Park and then onto Carlsbad.

Since we knew we were going to be away most of the day, our loving furry friends came with us.  It was a warm day and since we had seen the caverns in Central Texas we decided not to go see the caverns. We did go up and see the store and other things that they had to offer though.  Vadie bought a few things.

The parking spot at Walmart was fairly level and the entire parking lot is concrete.  We both had a fairly good sleep and headed out about 10am.

We arrived at Van Horne about 1:20pm, and staying at the KOA campground.

After lunch we headed to the county clerk’s office, to pay our taxes on our property which we have owned for quite a number of years.  This property does not mount to much, as we believe it to be landlocked by another owner, they own the property right around us.  Our intention is to head up there tomorrow to look at the property and take pictures, then continue up to Carlsbad caverns going through the Guadalupe mountains.

So tonight we will relax and enjoy ourselves, not sure what is happening for dinner or what we will do, but relax is in order.

Today turned out to be a relaxing day.  After yesterday with Mary and Joe Hankin allowing others to view their home and then hosting a party in the evening, Mary especially was very tired.  When we called at 10:30 am, Joe was up and Mary just getting up.

We went out and had breakfast with Joe, then went and visited with Mary and her mother Lucy.  We went back to the coach to have dinner and then watched the show called “The Mentalist”.

On the 4th, we prepared the coach to leave, then had breakfast with Mary and Joe.  With us talking and sharing stories, the time flew by and before we knew it it was almost 11am.  We said our goodbyes and then hit the road, it was a long haul driving almost 500kms.

We arrived at Fort Stockton, just as the sun was setting, a very beautiful sunset.  We ate dinner, and relaxed by watching a movie, which was not finished.
