Due to Powell and Char leaving today we decided to get up early.  We went for breakfast at Daybreakers Restaurant.  After breakfast we took them to Martinez Lake, an oasis in the desert right along side the Colorado River.  This is a cool place, boating can go from Imperial Dam to Blythe, by boat almost 80 miles.  Talking to the locals, there is plenty of fish and deep enough to handle most small boats.

We headed back and stopped by the small church alongside Hwy 95.  Very small church, seats 18 people.

Powell and Char headed out around noon, and we juggled our coach over when they left.  There is much cleaning that has to happen, laundry, putting things away which Vadie had purchased, and general cleaning of the coach due to the dust  from Quartzite.

Vadie also made a spaghetti dinner, enough for us and our neighbours so we ate outside with them.  They sure were glad to see us back.

Powell and Char made it to Eloy, where one can get their wheel polished for $5 each – this is amazing.  They showed us pics of the before and after – what a difference.  Safe travels you two.

In the evening Vadie and I relaxed ourselves by watching TV.

Tomorrow will be another busy day.

Special Person Today – Don and Mavis – two great folks whom we got to know many years ago.  Although both elderly folks, both keep very active.  They are talented in many regards, Don with music, and handcrafting, Mavis with cooking, baking and knitting.  Most of all, they are always there when we need them, this year long trip has been hard on them as we usually visit them every other week.  Hang in there you two, we will be home soon.

This morning started off early, breakfast at Daybreakers Restaurant, Mark, Ginger, Joe, Powell, Char,  Vadie and I.  Mark and Ginger live in Yuma, they came from the “nest” yesterday.  Joe drove down from the “nest” this morning to pick up his hard drive.  I copied items from my hard drive to his hard drive.

Later in the day we went to Sun garden date place, and had a date shake.  These definitely are yummy.  We headed to Cloud museum, a place where I know Powell and Char would really enjoy and they did. We toured more of Yuma looking at many vehicles for sale.

For dinner we went to a Chinese buffet restaurant, the same one that Herb and Jody took us too.

When we got back from dinner, we played cards, we really enjoy their company.

Special People today – John and Lil Wilbor – a great couple whom I met twenty years ago.  They too are busnuts, due their age, their coach has been passed onto their youngest daughter Lori and her husband Tim.

Said our goodbyes to all who were left at Quartzite – travelled back to Yuma with Powell and Char Brown.

In the afternoon we toured Yuma a little, then went to the Yuma Swap meet at the dog track. This is much different than what Quartzite had to offer.

Went out for dinner at the Am Vet , a small place like the Legion in Canada,  we had roast beef dinner –homemade – yummy.

In the evening we played cards with Char and Powell.  Well, the ladies beat us tonight.

Special People today – the management, and coworkers.  I enjoy going to work most days, the job is really cool and I am amazed how they made it many years ago – it definitely is a work of wonder.

Today it seemed that we were all up fairly early.  But to get going, it seemed to take forever.  We finally got to a restaurant to have brunch, but again the restaurant was very busy.  It took almost an hour to get the food, cheap and good, but then we were hungry, well no wonder it was lunch time.

Initially we were going to drop off some of the people with us, and then come back to the campsite, but strangely we all ended up at the show grounds.  We walked around looking at things again, and bought some more things, sheets for the bed, omni directional antenna for the tv, and picked up the watering system for the coach.

Most of the night it had rained, making the dirt – mud, so we walked through the mud and around the large mudpuddles.  It continued to rain most of the day, but we continued on with the shopping quest.

For dinner we had od’heurs, as usual it all tasted very good.  After dinner Jody Hood made us a cream lemon and banana pie – yummy.  We sure are spoiled.

After dinner, we chatted at the fire, then went to play cards.

Special People Today – Dave Jones – our tenant who is looking after our place.  He is also looking after Vadies business, moving the clay for those who purchase it.  It is unfortunate that he will be leaving us to go to greener pastures, closer to his family who mainly live in the Montreal Quebec area.  Well, with him moving there, just lets us go to other places to visit.  Thanks for everything Dave.

Powell, Joe and I went into town early to go to the RV show to pick up wheel nut covers and a battery watering system.  I paid for the watering system, but will have to pick it up tomorrow.

When we got back, Vadie had taken Ginger and Wendy to go shopping.  According to the ladies, Vadie is definitely the shopping Queen – Vadie gets her exercise walking through the stores.

For dinner eight of us went out for Mexican food.  The food was delicious, even though we had to wait an hour to get in.

As usual we went out to the fire, even though it was raining somewhat, then went in and watched a movie with Powell and Char – Wild Hogs – good show.

Special People today – All of our teachers throughout our school years – bless them all for having to put up with us.  I know we were not easy on them all of the time.
